When executives fail and CEO’s must act
During my tenure as International VP of HR and in the last twelve years as Executive Coach, I came across this dilemma that most CEO’s go through in one moment of their careers: how to pull the plug when a team member fails. There are so many elements to consider, that the decision, although necessary, is always difficult to execute.
I share with you a magnificent and comprehensive study on this matter prepared by Harvard Law School. It analyzes all the elements involved and covers in detail the process to be followed before the final decision is taken. Most of us, professional executives, have intuitively gone through some of these phases of analysis; this document consolidates the process in one place.
